"The girls battled their hearts out tonight," Chambersburg coach Chris Skultety said. "I saw no signs of frustration and no signs of giving up, which makes me proud."

CV (12-0, 9-0 MPC) went ahead 1-0 in the second inning when Gracie Lau walked and eventually scored on a hit by Rylie Brill. In the fourth, Brill hit a double over the bag at third base and scored on Grayson Trybulski's base hit.

In the seventh, Emma Stroup reached on an infield base hit and went to second on a fielder's choice. Saleen Null walked Sydney May intentionally, but struck out the next batter for the second out. Then Lau looped a single to centerfield and Stroup raced home with the winning run.

May was once again strong on the mound for the Eagles, allowing only 4 hits, with no walks and 12 strikeouts.

In Chambersburg's sixth inning, Karley Skultety reached base on an error. Sam Paetow, who was 2-for-3, then crushed a 1-0 pitch over the fence in left field to tie the game 2-2. It was her third home run in the last four games.

Kori Leedy pitched the first 4.1 innings for Chambersburg (10-3, 5-3 MPC) and gave up 7 hits, but only 2 runs. Null went 2.1 innings, allowing 3 hits.

Coach Skultety said, "We were right there with the top seed in District 3 and had our chances. They just made one more play and got one more hit than we did today. These are the games that get us ready for the playoffs and that we love to be in."
